Senegalese rap musician Fatou Diatta, known as Sister engages herself in human rights and wants to create consciousness towards social and political issues focussing on women’s rights in Senegal and Western Africa.

She was the first woman, who produced her own hip hop album and became well known for her music in Senegal. She moved to Berlin and released her album Sarabah. She plays concerts in all parts of the world and has won several awards.
Sister Fa launched “Education sans Excision,” a project where she fights against female genital cutting and tells young people about their rights.

MASTA G, Guinea

Blaise Bakary Béavogui aka Masta G was a rap artist from Guinea. He was born in 1981 in the suburbs of Conakry.
Masta G wrote his first song in 1995 when he was 14 years old. He released his first album in 2003 on cassette.


He grew up facing the challenges of urban life in Africa and is looking for humanity and respect to bring to Guinea.

Music is his weapon to fight against social injustice.

TORCH, Germany

Frederik Hahn was born 1971 in Heidelberg, Germany to a Haitian mother. He is known as Torch and is said to be one of the first German rap artists.

He is one of the founders of Advanced Chemistry who released, “Stranger in one's own Country” in 1992, which became the first popular hip hop song in Germany.

Torch released a solo album in 2000 and is well-known for his social consciousness in his lyrics. He is also travelling the world as DJ Haitian Star and founded an association to help Haitian people after the Earthquake in 2010.

Amewu Nove was born 1983 in Berlin, Germany. He is known for his excellent rap techniques and his profound texts.
His first album was released 2009 and he became known for his determined announcements.

He is campaigning for a better refugee policy, is doing school workshops and is working with youth to give them a opportunity to get to know music and rap as a tool to work and develop.
